Louise Fraser

Louise is set to unleash a darkly cinematic collection of Celtic tracks inspired by her Scottish roots this year. The first track, ‘Hush’, drops 1/21/19.  A devastating funeral lament inspired by the death of her father, James Lethen Young Fraser, and released on the anniversary of his death, Fraser’s lyrics are a deeply poetic eulogy. Set to Martin Tichy's ghost filled landscape of live strings, the overall effect is awash with darkness, infused with pain, and sure to leave anyone with (or without) a pulse in glorious ruin.

The full Celtic collection, ‘Glory’ will feature songs in English and Gaelic, ranging from stripped down single string accompaniment to fully orchestrated battle cries.  Collaborators include film composer Jeff Rona (Traffic, Black Hawk Down, Liquid Cinema) and Martin Tichy (Vienna Symphonic). Watch this space.

'Wake Up' (Ghost Town CD) will be featured in the Jada Pinket Smith produced upcoming indie movie 'Hala'. The film is about a teenage Muslim girl’s coming-of-age in Chicago. 65% of the crew are women as well as the Director and all department heads :-)

Happy to be a featured artist on the PBS show 'Roadtrip Nation' with 7 songs placed across 4 episodes

I am very happy to report that 'Look Down' (co-written with Jeff Rona) has been placed in an upcoming feature film called 'Welkome Home'. It's about a diverse ethnic group of immigrants in New York and will be screened at the upcoming Venice, Tribeca, and Toronto film festivals :-)

Two of my songs were just placed in the MTV comedy drama "I Just Want My Pants Back" :-)

Two of my songs, "Cold" and "Thaw", were just placed in the dark comic Euro-trash movie "Who Killed Johnny" slated for release across Europe in 2013

I just did a 30 minute interview/ CD giveaway with WMUL Radio (West Virginia). It airs in 2 weeks (details to follow). Thanks to James Phillip Payne for hosting the interview, for such great questions, and of course for having such terrific taste in music ;-)

My song 'Cold' will be featured on the CW show 'Remodeled' this Thursday, Feb 15th, at 9pm. It's a show about modeling, not home improvement, in case you were wondering why my female musings might be accompanying a bunch of blokes hammering drywall.

'Ghost', an electronic collaboration with the Flir that was featured in AMC cinemas across America, is now available on iTunes Ghost (with the Flir) - Single - Louise Fraser

Louise’s voice can be heard alongside Portishead, Moby and Aphex Twin on the ecologically minded, critically acclaimed feature documentary ‘Sharkwater’. Nominated for Best Documentary in the Critics Choice Awards, Sharkwater has picked up 19 international awards so far, including Best Score in France. Louise and composer Jeff Rona also co-wrote a song for the soundtrack, 'Look Down', that is available from iTunes (check it out on the music page of this site).
