bizarre original guitar tunings, haunting melodies, pretty harmonies, and eclectic acoustic arrangements make louise fraser a one of a kind.
Clasically trained since the age of 11, Louise has toured with bands from the age of 16. From her roots in a 27 piece jazz ensemble and successful London teen rock band, she has gone on to develop a unique vocal style that has been compared to artists ranging from Imogen Heap and Sarah McLachlan to Enya and the Cocteau Twins/ Liz Fraser.
Louise has released two solo albums, collaborated with musicians all over the world, and is lead singer for electronic dream pop outfit The Flir, a successful LA band who are frequently played on KCRW.
Ghost Town is Louise Fraser’s second solo CD. A departure from her electronic mainstay, she expands her singer songwriter repertoire with a range of moving vocals, pretty harmonies, guitars, cello, piano, drums, percussion and a whole range of acoustic instruments eclectically arranged by producer Rich Avrach. Rich also co-wrote two songs on the album (‘cry me a universe’ and ‘each time’).
Louise’s solo career is attracting growing attention. Here are some reviews:
‘(On ‘Wake Up’) A cleverly written song, composed with care and played to perfection. This artist’s voice and style are nearly incomparable, and I’m not joking when I tell you she’s one of the best singers in the WORLD!’ (BeSonic).
‘…. a pearl. Louise is serenity.… peaceful and positive.... her voice will make you smile like an idiot.... the mood is one of Celtic mysticism, sometimes dark and warm, sometimes cold and icy, like an Icelandic winter and summer simultaneously seizing your soul. This album is strongly recommended in these times of war. Listen, empty your head, and fill it with peace.’ Infratunes
‘Beautiful voice + wonderful music = new excellent artist on the Besonic sites!!! Just listen, I´ve not enough words for this...GREAT !!!’ Besonic
Louise is currently living, touring and recording in Los Angeles.
